Sony augmented reality glasses SmartEyeGlass SED-E1, which was previewed few months ago, is now coming to 10 countries. Among them, UK and Germany are the two countries where it is up for pre-orders and will be start shipping from March. Other countries include US, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden. The developer edition Sony Smart Glass is priced at €670 which is equivalent to around 840 USD.

Sony SmartEyeGlass is compatible with Android 4.4 or above smartphones. It is designed with transparent lens that connects to compatible smartphones and highlight various information on the wearer’s field of view. The glass uses the monochrome green display and comes with a 3MP camera unit. This glass can be used variety of scenarios as shown in the video. It also comes with a separate controller that houses battery, speaker, microphone, NFC and touch sensor.

Besides giving amazing hardware features, Sony also opens its SmartEyeGlass SDK for developers to create apps; and according to the Sony, apps will let wearer to access social media like Facebook and Twitter. The apps will also be available from the SmartEyeglass host app on the smartphone.
