Microsoft has been started a trade in program for its Surface tablets from 2nd February to 8th March. According to this program customer will have to return the previous Surface tablet in working condition and as a result, he will get credit on purchase of new Surface Pro 3. Customer can get as much as $650 off on return of Surface Pro 3 with 256GB storage and Corei5 processor. Whereas, the return credit of Surface RT is as much as $94.

This Microsoft Surface trade in program is for US customers only and eligible only if their old Surface device fulfills the following criteria:

  • Power on battery must hold charge and not be required to be plugged in to operate.
  • Fully functional and in working condition.
  • Without broken/missing components, cracked display/housing, liquid damage, modification(s) or have device warranty seal broken.

The overall process seems to be fully online as you need to first mail the device in for evaluation and then wait for the response, if the device is found okay then you will get an online store credit only. The credit will be applied towards the purchase of new Surface Pro 3. So, if you are going to dumb your old surface device, then don’t throw it in your recycle bin, apply for the Microsoft surface trade in program before it ends!
