Sprint Unveils Sanyo Taho – 3G Rugged Phone

Sanyo has just unveiled a new 3G rugged phone, the Sanyo Taho. It is built for the “Military tough” environment with military standard 810G that is capable to withstand dust, shocks, vibrations, blowing rain and extreme temperatures. The Sanyo Taho can even be fully immersed in to 1 meter depths of water for up to 30 minutes, not as must as the Sonim XP1300 Core phone which can be immersed up to 2 meters in water.

The Sanyo Taho clamshell phone is a 3G phone with some decent features as well. It has a 2.0 mega pixel camera with flash light. It has GPS functionality and the ability to lock the GPS “ON” in order to keep track of military personals. The Sanyo Taho rugged 3G phone has a 2” internal and a 1” external display with a 1050mAh Li-ion battery that will provide up to 6 hours of talk time. The phone comes with a 1GB microSD card and supports up to 32GB of memory cards. Other features include stereo speakers, Bluetooth, MP3 playback, non-slip dura-grip texture etc.

The Sanyo Taho ultra rugged 3G phone only weighs 4.7 oz, measures 4 x 2 x 0.9 inches and comes in black color. It is available for $99 on contract via Sprint.
