Archos has recently revealed its Archos Helium series smartphones including the Archos 50 Helium 4G. As the name suggests, the Archos 50 Helium is a 4G/LTE phone which will also work with 3G capable networks due to being backward compatible. With LTE capability it supports data rates up to 150Mbps/50Mbps. This new 4G phone by Archos will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out of the box which is quite a letdown for a LTE phone released in Q2 2014.

The Archos 50 Helium 4G smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm MSM8926 which is a 1.2GHz Cortez A7 quad core processor. It packs 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The display supports 10-point multitouch. Other features of the 50 Helium 4G include 1GB internal memory, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, compass, accelerometer, light and proximity sensor etc.

The Archos 50 Helium 4G phone has a rear 8MP camera and a front facing 2MP camera. Another disappointment is in terms of battery which is stuck at only 2000mAh. For a 5″ smartphone having 4G/LTE functionality one would expect it to have a battery capacity over 2500mAh which is not the case.

Stay tuned in for more updates on the Archos 50 Helium 4G phone.
