“Android For Work” was first revealed at the I/O conference in June, 2014 and now it has been officially announced. It is made to work for users running at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or onwards. Android For Work is entirely designed to give benefit for enterprise users and corporate sector because it allows to create separate profiles for business and home.

It is built for people having single android device are now able to use their business and personal profiles on the same device keeping their info secure. The Android for Work app consists of four main features:

Work Profiles: It is accessible by users running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, in this app users have full flexibility to create entirely separate work profile on their phone and keep it isolate from their personal profile.

Android for Work App: This is particularly designed for users who have Android 4.0 or later, it allows to securely deliver info including mail, calendar, contacts, documents, browsing and access corporate approved tools that are managed by company’s IT department.

Google Play for Work: This is the optimized play store, where company approved apps are available so that employers can download easily.

Business App Suit: These are the office apps, which support Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes, using this suit of business app user can easily edit or create documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

This Android for Work app is a combine effort of google and other software and hardware providers including Samsung, Lenovo, Sony, HTC, LG, Box, SAP, etc. Since there is a huge population using android phones, therefore, Google is looking Android for Work as a great opportunity to make it another billion dollar industry.
