Panasonic Announced The Series Of 4K UHD TVs Powered By Firefox OS

Last month in January 2015 at CES Panasonic announced that it is going to launch a new lineup of smart TVs that will be powered by Firefox OS. Now, in the recent released press release, published at Mozilla site announced that in the coming MWC next week, Panasonic will be going to show its new lineup of Firefox powered TVs. This new lineup is called Panasonic VIERA LED TVs.

Panasonic VIERA series ranges from 40-inch screen size to 65-inch including the Panasonic 4K Pro feature models. This is for the first time, that any smart TV with Firefox operating system will come in the market. This operating system was basically designed for mobile devices and now Panasonic is implementing in its VIERA TVs as Home Screen 2.0. The models based on Home Screen 2.0 include CX850, CX800, CX750, CR730, CX700, and CX860 series TVs.

As far as the user experience is concerned, according to the conducted test, the operating system is user friendly and easy to operate. You can choose the features or functions via series of decks like Live TV, apps and devices. You may also run content from other devices like smartphones, tablets and PCs via Firefox browser or compatible apps.

Panasonic hasn’t revealed much about the pricing and launch of its Firefox powered smart TVs. Let’s wait till next week for the MWC to catch more information about the new Panasonic TV lineup.
