At just about the same time when Dell announced its Studio LED series monitors, NEC has also introduced MultiSync EX Series LED-Backlit LCD monitors. The first in the EX series is the NEC MultiSync EX231W 23” LED-Backlight LCD monitor.
The new NEC EX series monitors have a very stylish and ultra slim design. These are only 14.6mm in width and also not very heavy weighing only 9.3 lbs with stand. Equipped with VGA and DVI ports, these are ideal desktop monitors for business and financial users. The NEC EX231W LCD monitor also has USB port to plug in a flash drive, webcam or any other USB device. These are not like other LED-Backlit LCD monitors as these have the ability to automatically adjust screen brightness and save up to 95% of power during inactivity. These NEC EX series LCD monitors are equipped with special human sensors that detect human activity in front of the LCD panel and adjusts power settings accordingly, very similar feature lies in the recently introduced EZIO FlexScan multi-touch monitors.
Other features in the NEC EX Series MultiSync LED-Backlight LCD monitors include 1920×1080 high definition resolution, 25,000:1 of dynamic contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, USB pass-through, touch sensitive on-screen controls etc. The NEC MultiSync EX231W will become available in November for $399 along with a 3-year limited warranty on parts and labor.
