Garmin has just announced the Garmin Monterra, which is an Android powered handheld GPS unit with plenty of handy features that are only found in high tech gadgets. According to the source, the Garmin Monterra will have a 4-inch touchscreen display suitable for viewing in the outdoors on a bright sunny day as well.
Besides having Android as the operating system of choice, the Garmin Monterra also has an 8.0 MP camera with geotag support which is also capable of shooting 1080p videos. Internal storage on the device will be 6GB plus it also has a microSD card slot.
Other interesting features of the Garmin Monterra handheld GPS includes WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, FM radio etc. However, like other handheld GPS, the Garmin Monterra does not come cheap and when shipped in Q3 2013, it will have a retail price of $650 only, see details.
