COWON a Korean based company has just announced its new addition to its existing line of PMP (portable media players), the COWON X7, which is a one of a kind portable media player that has HDD storage which is a bit strange as many portable devices are moving towards SSDs and flash memories but COWON feels that HDDs are still very cool when it comes to large storage capacities.
The COWON X7 PMP will be available in 80GB, 160GB and 180GB version. There might also be up to 2GB flash memory but it has not been confirmed yet by COWON. Other features include a 4.3” TFT LCD touch sensitive screen with 480×272 resolution, 5-band equalizer, FM-radio, Bluetooth etc. The COWON X7 PMP is compatible with Windows and Mac OS. The device has TV-out support . Other features worth mentioning include a very strong battery with 103 hours of continuous music playback and up to 10 hours of continuous video playback.
The COWON X7 PMP is released in Korea and is available in white/purple/black colors at a price tag of 339,000 WON or roughly 302 USD.
