Bandai one of a famous Toy manufacturer in Japan has recently announced its latest Smartpet which is more like a cute robot. The Smartpet is basically the advanced version of its iDog, Bandai has done little changes in the iDog to make it appealing for the customers and hence named it smartly as Smartpet.
The Smartpet body is designed like a cute puppy which is operated via iPhone/iPod touch. The Apple device fits on its face area to work like a robot face having lots of cute expressions. On the other hand the body parts also show some movements like walking, moving tail, even capable to do some basic choreography when two Smartpets are connected together via Bluetooth. The robot shows interesting facial expressions when you connect your iPhone to the body and touch it, give some voice commands or movements (gesture recognition).
Bandai will hopefully launch the Smartpet robot by the end of April at price of around 6,500 Yen in Japan until then watch out the interesting demo video.
