Just about a month ago ViewSonic announced that it is going to release two new Android tablets, ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10. According to their press release, the ViewPad 7 has just been made available to US citizens and is now selling at $479 and in some places like Amazon.com, it is being sold for discounts up to 25% along with some handy accessories, see details.

ViewSonic ViewPad 7 has some decent specs for those who want a low to medium price scale tablet. Some of the ViewPad fans are even considering it as a perfect alternative to the expensive Samsung Galaxy Tab that is selling at over $600. Lets have a quick look at ViewPad 7 features and specifications. The ViewPad 7 has a 7” capacitive touch screen with multi-touch support. It runs Android 2.2 OS and is powered by Qualcomm MSM7227 which is a 600MHz processor. The RAM is DDR 512MB along with 512MB of internal storage space. Like other Android tablets, this one also has a microSD card slot to you can easily add up to 32GB of memory card to it. Other features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, G-sensor, light sensor, GPS etc.

Remember that the ViewSonic’s ViewPad 7 is one of the very few Android tablets to have full phone functionality which means that it accepts regular SIM cards from any carrier and you can make and receive calls and messages too.
