ViewSonic has just announced its two new Android Tablets, the ViewPad 7 (7” tablet) and ViewPad 10 (10” tablet). These two new ViewPad tablets are different than each other in not just the screen size but in features and specifications as well. The ViewPad 7 has Android 2.2 OS while the ViewPad 10 is a dual boot Windows 7 and Android 1.6 tablet so it would be unfair to call it just an Android tablet.

Unlike many other Android 2.2 tablets out there, the ViewSonic ViewPad 7, which is a 7 inch tablet, also has 3G support and contains a SIM card slot which makes its suitable for travelers. The Processor in this tablet is Snapdragon 600MHz which we felt could have been a lot better if was 1GHz or even higher. The ViewPad 7 has two cameras; 1 x 3.0 mega pixel rear facing and 1 x 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera. This Android 2.2 tablet has memory of 512MB and its internal memory can be expanded up to 32GB by adding a microSD card. ViewSonic claims that battery on this tablet will give a backup time of up to 10 hours. The ViewPad 7 supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth as well as USB connectivity.

The ViewPad 10 on the other has is a slightly different story. It is a dual-boot / dual-OS tablet satisfying the needs of both Windows 7 and Android tablet lovers. It has Android 1.6 and is powered by Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor. It contains 16GB SSD, 1GB RAM and has a microSD card slot for memory expansion. ViewPad 10 has a 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera which is ideal for video conferencing. Other features of this dual-boot OS tablet include Wi-Fi, G-sensor, multi-touch feature etc. Both the ViewSonic ViewPad tablets have capacitive touchscreen which is a lot quicker than the resistive touch screen.
The ViewSonic ViewPad 7 tablet will be available by the end of 2010 for a price of $479 while the ViewPad 10 tablet will be released by Q1 2011 for a price of $629.
