Microsoft has just revealed its latest in the series of Surface tablets. It is called the Surface 3 tablet. It is set to start shipping in May 2015 while initial reports revealed that interested consumers can arrange an appointment with local stores to get hands on experience and feel before making the purchase but a recent statement by a Microsoft representative confirms that anyone can visit its local Microsoft store and try it out themselves before deciding to place an order.

The new Microsoft Surface 3 has slightly smaller display of 10.8-inch but has the same Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1280 with 10-point multitouch support. It is powered by latest Quad Core Intel Atom x7 processor which has turbo speed of up to 2.4GHz.

According to Microsoft, the new Surface 3 will have either 2GB or 4GB DDR3 RAM and internal storage can be up to 128GB. The tablet has WiFi 802.11 a/b/c/g/n/ac as well as Bluetooth 4.0.

It will come with 64-bit Windows 8.1 operating system with a 1-year subscription to Office 365 and all that for a starting price of only $499.
