Sony Europe has introduced redesigned VAIO Z laptop with ultraslim design and additional Sony’s Power Media Dock. The specs are more or less similar to the previous VAIO series laptops but the Power Media Dock makes the difference.
According to the official release of the VAIO Z laptop, it is designed with:
- 13.1” 1600×900 display
- 2.7 GHz Intel Sandy Bridge Core i7
- 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD
- Integrated Intel HD 3000 Graphics
- WiFi AGBN, 3G WWAN and Bluetooth connectivity
- HDMI
- USB 3.0
- Up to 7 hours battery life
The VAIO Z laptop comes with a Power Media Dock which can connect through a particular optical cable “LightPeak” and then your laptop will switch to AMD Radeon HD 6650M instead of Intel HD 3000. The Power Media Dock sporting following features:
- 1GB of RAM
- USB 3.0
- VGA and HDMI ports
- DVD / Blu-Ray drive
- Gigabit Ethernet
The new Sony VAIO Z laptop is supposed to come by the end of July in Europe at price of £1,434 without Power Media Dock, while the PMD costs £400 without optical drive.
