A Japanese based company Century has just released a new CROS25U3 USB3.0 hard drive dock measuring only 88x40x55 mm and weighing just 124g. At the size that fits in your palm, the USB 3.0 interface increases data rate up to 10 times as compared to USB 2.0 hard drive docks.
The Century CROS25U3 USB 3.0 hard drive dock supports all current versions of Windows as well as Mac operating systems. This hard drive dock only supports SATA I/II 2.5 inch hard drives or the SATA 2.5 inch SSD (solid state drives). The CROS25U3 USB 3.0 hard drive dock gets powered via USB port plus it also has the option to receive power from external AC adopter.
The Century USB 3.0 hard drive dock utilizes USB standard A – Micro B type connector. Currently we have not heard this device being released in markets other than Japan. The Century CROS25U3 USB 3.0 hard drive dock is marked with a price tag of 4,580 Japanese Yen or roughly USD $52.
