ASUS has just released its new netbook line, the Eee PC 1005PX netbook. Available in five different colors (definitely not available for under $300), the new ASUS netbook line has pretty much the same specifications as the previous versions of ASUS Eee PC netbooks plus increased storage space of up to 320 GB.

The new ASUS Eee PC 1005PX netbook has a 10.1 inch LED backlight WSVGA non-glare display with maximum supported resolution of 1024×600. The CPU is Intel Atom N450. It comes with either 1GB or 2GB RAM plus the hard drive could be 160GB, 250GB or 320 GB SATA2 5400RPM. The new ASUS netbooks support both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth+EDR (optional) connectivity. It has the following input / output ports:
- 1 x LAN port
- 1 x Audio jack
- 1 x microphone jack
- 2 x USB 2.0 ports
- 1 x memory card reader (MMC/SD etc)
Other than the specs above, the ASUS Eee PC 1005PX netbooks are suitable for video conferencing as these have built-in speakers and MIC along with DH audio codec and a very handy 0.3 mega pixel webcam. The battery backup time is expected to be as much as 8.5 hours depending upon usage.
The ASUS Eee PC 1005PX netbook is available in either Windows 7 Starter edition or Windows XP Home edition.

i want to give this netbook to my husband as the b’day gift
ASUS 1005px has a combo headphone/mic jack. what type of head set to be used for headphone and mic to work.The manual has no information about it.I use Nokia smartphone headset and it works without mic connection.
