Amazon Tablet that has been in rumors for the past few months has been given a push towards reality as sources confirm that Amazon Tablet will be releasing this October. According to a recent report by MG Siegler, the Amazon Tablet will be having a 7 inch capacitive touch screen display instead of the rumored 10 inch display. The Amazon tablet will be powered by a single core processor that still remains behind the curtain. The report clearly indicates that Amazon tablet does not contain any of the default Google apps including the Android Market and instead it comes pre-installed with Amazon Appstore which serves that same purpose for downloading Android apps. It will have about 6GB of internal storage along with a memory card slot. The Amazon tablet will not have camera and will initially be available as a Wi-Fi only device with 3G version probably releasing later. Amazon Tablet seems to compete with the $250 NOOK Color Android tablet that has been around for quite sometimes and is doing reasonably well.
