Toshiba has just revealed that it has started shipping the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet which is powered by a very impressive nVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and has a sufficiently large 10.1” capacitive touch screen. Needless to mention here that this Android tablet has a widescreen display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.
The new Toshiba Folio 100 tablet has Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS. Other features of this Toshiba tablet include dual-core 1GHz nVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 16GB memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, support for 3G etc. This Toshiba Android tablet supports Flash 10.1. As most of the tablets being released this year, the Toshiba Folio 100 also has a 1.3 mega pixel web cam for video chat and video calling.
The battery on Toshiba Folio 100 can provide backup time of up to 7 hours depending upon usage. It has 1 x HDMI, 1 USB 2.0 port and a SD/MMC card reader. The tablet weighs about 760 g and measures 281x181x14 mm which is understandable for a 10.1” tablet. Two versions of the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet are available: one with Wi-Fi and other with Wi-Fi + 3G capability. Currently the Toshiba Folio 100 tablet has started shipping in Europe. Price of Toshiba Folio 100 tablet is €429 / £375 / $610 for the Wi-Fi only version and €529 / £460 / $750 for the Wi-Fi + 3G versions respectively.
