It seems that Olympus has decided to put a temporary stop in the compact series cameras and started to concentrate on the professional versions like its SLR OM series. That’s why it has recently announced OM-D E-M5 camera belongs to SLR OM family. It also represents the Micro Four Third camera lineup.

Olympus OM-D E-M5 features are more or less similar to the rest of OM cameras with some improvements including:

  • 3.0-inch touch screen OLED
  • 16.1-megapixel Live MOS Sensor
  • 120-fps refresh rate
  • High-resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF)
  • 5-axis image stabilizer
  • Fast auto-focusing system (FAST AF) with 3D AF tracking

In addition with above these hardware specs the camera is also made rugged and show high resistance against dust and any kind of splash over the body. Among the above fore-mentioned features the interesting feature is the new EVF which shows tone curve overlay on the viewfinder screen to adjust highlight and shadow brightness separately. Olympus OM-D E-M5 will be available in April in different prices according to the lens type i.e.
