Cadillac will be going to introduce a new technology in the automotive industry. According to the press release announced couple of days ago, Cadillac will replace the rearview mirror with a display and camera showing streaming of the back view in its future 2016 model. The main idea behind this technology is to get rid of all kind of obstacles that block the view including obstructions of passengers, headrests and the vehicle’s roof and rear pillars.

Cadillac revealed few more points about the camera and display; it said that the HD camera is designed with water-shedding hydrophobic coating to keep it clean to maintain visibility regardless of the driving conditions. Moreover, it will be worked efficiently under low-light conditions. On the other hand, the TFT-LCD display comprises of a high-resolution screen that sports a pixel count of 1280 x 240. The drivers would have also the option to disable video streaming and replace it back to typical electrochromatic rearview mirror by flipping the toggle underside of the mirror.

According to the Cadillac team, by introducing this technology the field of vision will be improved by 300%, which is approximately 4 times better than the existing standard rearview mirror. This amazing rearview mirror technology will be embedded first time in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 model.
