Those of you who want to know how high they can go in terms of display resolution while keeping the physical size minimum, the answer lies in the picture below. Below you see the world’s smallest full HD display measuring only 4.8 inches by ORTUS, a Tokyo based company.
ORTUS has just unveiled this first ever smallest HAST (Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT) display screen that has the capability to show full high-definition (HD) content at 1920 x 1080 resolution while maintaining a pixel density of 458ppi. The ORTUS smallest full HD display screen also features 16.8 million colors and has a 160º viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical. ORTUS indicates that its smallest HD display will be utilized for security and surveillance purpose.
The new ORTUS 4.8” full HD display will be showcased on 9th Nov 2010 at the Electronica exhibition to be held in Germany.
