Although Asus has manufactured 12 inch netbooks in the past but what makes this new comer more attractive is its complete aluminum finish.

Another different thing in the design of the Asus Eee PC 1218 netbook is that it has all the input/output jacks at the rear side. The front and the sides are free from any kind of jacks. Although it would have been a better design if it had speaker and microphone jacks at the front or at least on its side but nevertheless it looks great either way.
The Asus Eee PC 1218 has a 12 inch (diagonal) display and is slightly slimmer than the previous Asus Eee PC machines. It is set to be released in two chassis, one will be in natural and brushed aluminum finish while the other will be in anodized black body. Release date is yet to be announced publicly.
