The Android based Instacube after waiting for a long time has finally indicated that it has started shipping. For those of you who do not know, the Instacube was a Kickstarter project that received funds over $620K in Sept 2012 and what it does is that it displays pictures from your Instagram account over WiFi on a nice looking 7.5-inch square frame.
The Instacube display is a 6.5-inch touchscreen LCD with 600×600 resolution. It is based on Android and is powered by ARM processor along with 256MB RAM. It also has 4GB storage and for those interested, it has a starting price of $199 with news that it also has video support. Now available for much less at Amazon (details here).
