Sony Brings Xperia Sola – The Floating Touch Smartphone

Sony announced Xperia Sola an android smartphone with a floating touch support. Sony revealed the feature of the device in its preview video which is announced today. The main focus of the phone is around the stunning display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine.

The floating technology makes the web surfing and access phone features easy. this technology works by hovering the finger over the screen which acts like cursor and you don’t need to touch the screen to select the text. The video also shows that the Sony Xperia Sola other features :

  • 3.7 inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with Reality Display
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • 5-megapixel rear camera
  • NFC, DLNA and xLOUD support
  • 3D surround sound
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS

The phone will be upgraded to Android 4.0 in the summer 2012. In addition with above, the Smart Tags feature in the phone provides fast profile switching, and lots of entertainment apps for video and music including access to the Sony Entertainment Network makes it a full media phone. Its availability and price information are yet to be announced.
