Few days earlier we have heard that LG brings a unique phone design with double display names as LG DoublePlay. Now comes its official unboxed video which clearly shows the benefits of dual display in a phone. The idea behind the design of this phone is to do multitasking in easier way and comfortable keyboard typing i.e. its also the first time that a phone has split QWERTY keyboard, the keyboard is split in right and left by a 2” touch display and hence you can type quickly using both of your hands. The keyboard is designed in such a way that space bar key is placed both sides on right and left so that user may not feel difficulty in typing and every key is within his reach.
On the other hand the LG DoublePlay is an android phone with following features:
- 3.5″ (320 x 480) main display
- 1GHz Qualcomm processor
- T-Mobile HSPA+ 4G connectivity
- 5-megapixel rear camera
- WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity
- Built-in GPS
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
The 2” secondary display of LG DoublePlay has some preloaded apps and you can simultaneously perform different tasks on both displays as described in the video. You can also switch the display screens of the apps from main to secondary or vice versa. Though the phone has not the smart and slim looks and it feels quite heavy than other smartphones of today but idea of double display and split keyboard may attract users to experience it. The LG DoublePlay is now available at price of $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year contract on T-Mobile.
