LG Korea has just announced via press release that it is going to release a new Android smartphone, LG Optimus 2X, which will be powered by the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor which is definitely going to have an impact on price tag, if you happen to buy it UNLOCKED or without any contract.
LG has made it clear that the LG Optimus 2X will be running Android 2.2 out of the box and the users will also have the option to upgrade the OS to later versions such as Android 2.3 or may be higher. The LG Optimus 2X sports some decent specifications too. It has the already mention 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 8GB of internal memory, upgradable to 32GB via microSD card, 8.0 mega pixel rear camera and a 1.3 mega pixel front camera etc. The 8.0 mega pixel camera supports HD 1080p recording as well as playback. The screen on this smartphone is a 4.0 inch WVGA touch screen.
LG Korea will release LG Optimus 2X in Korea in Jan 2011 and then it will make its way to Europe and rest of the Asia. Still no information whether this Android 2.2 smartphone will be made available in U.S. or not. No word in price as well. Stay tuned for more updated on the Dual-Core LG Optimus 2X smart phone.
