Huawei just announced the addition of Huawei W1 to its existing line of smartphones. As the title suggests, the Huawei W1 is Huawei’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphone introduced this year and a remark by Todd Greedberg, GM of US Windows Phones Sales, clearly indicated that it is a great addition to the existing family of Windows Phone 8 smartphones.
According to Huawei, the W1 smartphone has a 4.0 inch Gorilla Glass IPS touchscreen display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Other prominent features include a 5.0MP rear facing camera and a VGA front facing camera. The internal storage is not clearly specified yet and as stated, the users will have about 1.7GB of space to install their apps and store other data and there is of course a microSD card slot that can hold up to 32GB of flash memory. There is still no word on price and exact release date other than the fact that the Huawei W1 Windows Phone 8 smartphone will start shipping this month on reputable online retailers in the US. It is shipping via Amazon (see details).
