We have just spotted a new Acer Smartphone that is rumored to have Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and sports an impressive 4.8” touch screen capable of supporting maximum resolution of 1024 x 480 pixels. The phone of course will be having other features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. Like other Smartphones such as the Nokia N8, this one also has a very decent camera, 8.0 mega pixel to be precise.
Not much has been revealed for the new Acer Android 2.3 smartphone other than the fact that the phone features Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, dual-camera, microSD card slot, regular 3.5mm headphone jack etc. The new Acer 4.8” smartphone is supposed to be powered by 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The Acer phone will be supporting java script as well as Adobe Flash Player 10.1 which is nowhere to be found in Android 2.1 as well as lower versions of Android. The new Acer smartphone will also have motion sensor as well as accelerometer. The large 4.8 inch touch screen supports a 21:9 aspect ratio which is ideal for viewing high definition photos and videos.
The price and exact availability of the new Acer smartphone was not found at the time of writing but this smartphone is rumored to be released in the first quarter of 2011.
