Such a small projector that it will fit inside the pocket of your six year old. It measures only 12.5cm x 5.5cm x 2.3cm and is about 100g in weight, so you get the picture. With a projector so small, it needs to have sufficient battery life for you to play your media files or presentations. The earlier model of the Aiptek PocketCinema did not have built-in memory but the V10 version, the one this whole review is about, has 1GB internal memory which can be upgraded to a maximum of 8GB via external memory card. It supports only SD and MMC cards.
This is a very cheap projector, considering the fact that multimedia projectors are very heavily priced. It costs only 1/3 to that of conventional projectors and take much less space than those bulky projectors require. This small projector also contains built-in speakers of 0.5 W power. You can get external speaker station for the Aiptek PocketCinema V10 easily.
This pocket projector by Aiptek requires that you convert your media files to MPEG4 ASF or MJPEG AVI before playing them otherwise this small projector will not recognize them at all. The necessary software for converting to the desired format comes with this pocket projector so you need not to spend extra money on conversion tools.
This small projector is capable of projecting image on any surface with an aspect ratio of 4:3. The projection surface can be as far as six feet away and the image can stretch up to 50 inches wide. This Aiptek portable projector has a chargeable battery which lasts for no more than 60 minutes. I wish it lasts at least 45 minutes more but considering the fact is a small projector with a very low price and really cool gadget, this is somewhat acceptable.
If this is not enough, this cheap projector comes with a tripod stand and a remote to control the media from a distance. Ideal for showing presentations. Overall this portable projector from Aiptek is a nice gadget to have in your collection. We rate it 7/10.
