Western Digital has just introduced a new line of 3.5 inch HDDs to be used as internal hard drives for desktops and servers. The WD Red is the new name of the 3.5 inch HDDs line and as the sources indicate these new hard drives have been specifically designed to be used in NAS servers as well as home and office computers. The WD Red HDDs are packed with 64MB cache and have SATA 6.0 Gbps interface. The drives feature MTBF of 1 million hours.
For those interested, the WD Red 3.5 inch Desktop HDDs are available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB models for $109, $139 and $189 respectively.
