Western Digital has just introduced two different lineup of external drives; The My Book Thunderbolt Duo 8TB and My Book 4TB. Both the drives are made compatible for both Mac and PC systems.

The My Book Thunderbolt Duo 8TB is based on the latest Thunderbolt technology which offers high speed data transfer equivalently for both the Mac and PC systems. Since the drive comes with Thunderbolt cable so you can also increase its capacity upto 48TB by daisy-chaining 6 My Book Thunderbolt Duo drives using the provided cable.

The My Book 4TB is a USB 3.0 drive which works three times faster than any of the USB 2.0 drives and is also made compatible with the Microsoft’s forthcoming Windows 8 operating system.

As far as price and availability are concerned the My Book Thunderbolt Duo 8TB will be available from WD store at price of $850 and $250 respectively.
