Western Digital has just released of what looks like a hybrid drive named WD Black2 Dual Drove. It is a SSD + HDD dual drive available in 2.5″ form factor. It is a 120GB SSD combined with a 1TB HDD. The Western Digital WD Black2 Dual Drive has the same SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and is ideal solution for notebooks, mini computers, gaming laptops etc.
The HDD in the WD Black Dual drive has the same old 5400RPM spindle speed but the SSD + HDD combination offers improved performance altogether. The drive comes with Industry 5-year manufacturer warranty and a high retail price tag of $299 only. Available at Amazon for much less, see details.
