Japanese company VIA, which is quite popular in making mobile CPU units for portable devices such as tablets has just announced its first Android PC System (APC) in the form of a 7-inch ARM board which has all the essentials of a complete Android system. According to VIA, the APC is powered by a VIA 800MHz single core processor along with 512MB DDR3 RAM. It has 2GB Flash memory along with a microSD card slot. According to the source, the VIA APC will be running modified version of Android 2.3 and will be best utilized when used with a physical keyboard and mouse. Other features include four USB ports, HDMI port, VG port, support for 720p resolution, Ethernet port, audio jacks and a low power profile which is up to 13.5 watts under maximum load.
For those interested, the VIA Android PC System (APC) will be made available in Jul for $49 only.
