For those who do not know, the Shuttle Mini PC comes in a very small form factor measuring close to an external disc drive. The Shuttle has just announced its latest addition to the line of Mini PCs, the Shuttle DS81.
The major problem with these small form factor PCs is that they tend to get very hot under contiguous load but the Shuttle DS81 Mini PC like its predecessor has plenty of vents and will continue to operate even at temperatures close to 50 degrees.
The new Shuttle DS81 mini PC packs the Intel Haswell platform CPUs all the way up to core i7. These have two RAM slots supporting up to 16GB memory. Other features include 2 x USB 3.0, 4 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x HDMI, 2 x DisplayPort, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, memory card reader etc. The Shuttle DS81 mini PC will start shipping in just a few days time at a starting price
178 Euros or $250 (approx). It is now available at a much lower price at Amazon (see details).
