In a recent press release, Panasonic has clearly mentioned that they will be releasing a Toughbook Android tablet which will be an improved version of tablets of the current era, specifically in terms of durability, accessibility, security as well as real-world reliability. The tablet will be called something like Panasonic Toughbook Android Tablet or Panasonic Toughbook Slate. Some of the few details about the Panasonic Toughbook tablet can be found below.

According to Panasonic, the Toughbook Android tablet will have a 10.1 inch XGA multi-touch display which will have high brightness so that it can easily be used in the outdoors by workers. The tablets will carry its own custom stylus which will also assist in receiving signatures of customers when used in mobile point-of-sale environment. The Panasonic Toughbook Android tablet also offers enhanced level of security as well as durability. It has satellite-based GPS (not A-GPS) and a battery that is made to last for a full-shift. The Panasonic Toughbook Tablet will also have optional embedded 3G/4G connectivity.

There is no word on the price of Panasonic Toughbook Android tablet but Panasonic states that it will be released in Q4 2011.
