OCZ has just announced its latest addition to the line of solid state drives (SSD), the OCZ Synapse SATA 6.0 Gbps SSD. The OCS Synapse SSD will be made available in both 64GB and 128GB capacities with more or less similar data rates such as 550/490 MB/s read/write speed for the 64GB model while 550/510 MB/s read/write speed for the 128GB model. The new OCZ Synapse SSD is a 2.5 inch SSD sporting 2Xnm MLC NAND Flash chips and having a SandForce SF-2281 controller. Other features include SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, TRIM support and MTBF of 2 million hours.
According to OCZ, the new Synapse SATA 6.0 Gbps SSD will be made available in Jan 2012 for price of $192 for the 64GB model and $321 for the 128GB model.
