NEC has just released its new Windows 7 tablet, the NEC LaVie Touch Windows 7 Tablet, currently available only in Japan. The tablet has some really impressive set of features to scare the competition away as it is powered by a 1.5GHz Intel Aton Z670 processor along with Intel SM35 Express chipset. The tablet has a 10.1 inch IPS touch screen display with 1280 x 800 resolution. The picture above clearly shows that this device can be docked of what appears to be a DVD-drive. Other features of the NEC LaVie Touch Windows 7 tablet include 2GB RAM, 64GB SSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SDHC card slot, HDMI etc. The NEC LaVie tablet also has a 1.3MP webcam and is claimed to have a battery life of 10.6 hours which is great unless you have a glimpse of the price tag which is at $1,230 only. We have no information if the NEC LaVie Touch Windows 7 tablet will be made available in the U.S. or other regions.
