Intel has just announced a new line of enterprise SSDs, the Intel SSD Pro 1500 Series. According to Intel, the SSD Pro 1500 Series SSDs will be made available in capacities from 80GB up to 480GB in 2.5″ as well as M.2 form factors.
The new Intel Business class solid state drives contain 20nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips and have SATA 6.0 Gbps memory interface with a 256-bit AED hardware encryption. The controller used in the Intel SSD Pro 1500 series SSDs is the LSI-SandForce SF2281 controller and the SSDs have a MTBF of 1.2 million hours.
The new Intel enterprise level SSDs can reach read and write speeds of up to 540MB/s and 490MB/s respectively. Price and release dates for the Intel SSD Pro 1500 Series SSDs are yet to be announced.
