HP has just revealed its new mobile work station, 14 inch EliteBook 8460w, powered by your choice of Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor of up to 2.7 GHz. The HP EliteBook 8460w has a 14 inch LED display and sports some impressive set of specifications as well as features. Details are as under.

The new HP 14 inch EliteBook 8460w mobile workstation weighs about 4.9 lbs depending upon the configuration you have selected. It can have up to 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM and up to 750 GB hard drive along with up to 160 GB SSD. Users will have the option to have Blu-ray optical drive or the regular DVD/RW drive. GPU in EliteBook 8460w is AMD FirePro M3900 which has 1GB dedicated DDR3 video memory. Other features include 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 1 x VGA,1 x eSATA, SD/MMC memory card reader, Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. The HP EliteBook 8460w mobile station also has HD webcam.
The HP 14 inch EliteBook 8460w mobile workstation is expected to ship later in 2011 and price stats at $1299 only.

The hardware was unveiled only yesterday and the HP 17-inch EliteBook incorporated it under its hood.The computer maker is in fact the first to get this. The 5000M solution is being lined up for the 8740w EliteBook promising to usher in 320 CUDA cores and a huge 2GB of dedicated memory in its performance. While HP s Quadro-equipped 17-inch EliteBook comes for 3 000-plus we are not sure as to what Dell is looking at.
