Solid State Drives are becoming more common which is a good thing because the price will be getting lower as more manufacturers thrive hard to capture higher market share. GeIL has just announced its two new 2.5” SSDs namely ZENITH S2 and ZENITH S3 with 3.0 Gbps and 6.0 Gbps interface respectively. The GeIL ZENITH S2 SSD will be available in 60GB and 120GB capacity with read and write speeds of 280MB/s and 270MB/s respectively. On the other hand, the GeIL ZENITH S3 SSD comes with a SandForce SF-2200 series controller and can have read and write speeds in excess of 500MB/s. These will be available from 60GB up to 480GB sizes.
Unfortunately there is no info on price for the GeIL ZENITH S2 and ZENITH S3 SSD but expect these to be made available in March 2012.
