Last year in November we saw those four inch modular computers emerging and being called Xi3 modular computers. Not to the surprise, it has just been announced that you can also get one of these running the Chrome OS and these will be called ChromiumPC Xi3 modular computers which are undoubtedly the smallest desktop computers to date. Some of the details about the ChromiumPC computers have been listed below.
As you can see in the photos above, the ChromiumPC is housed in a rugged aluminum casing that contains the processor, primary and the secondary I/O modules. These will be made available in both single-core and dual-core configuration with x86-based processors. These have integrated graphics and will come out in variety of attractive colors.
The ChromiumPC Xi3 modular computer measures only 4 x 3.6 x 3.5 inches and can require as little as 8 watts to operate depending upon the configuration selected. The new Xi3 ChromiumPC modular computers will be made available by the first week of June 2011 with price yet to be announced.
