What was the last time you used a scuba diving camera without a waterproof case. I bet you do not remember because there aren’t many scuba diving cameras that you can take below 50ft depth without a waterproof housing. The Canon PowerShot D30 digital camera however is waterproof up to 82 feet or 25m which is remarkable for a point and shoot digital camera.

The new Canon PowerShot D30 camera is also shockproof and can survive drops from 2m heights. It is equipped with a 12.1MP CMOS sensor and is powered by DIGIC 5 processor. It supports full 1080P HD video recording at 30fps.

The camera has a nice 5X optical zoom lens as well and comes with built-in GPS. The lack of WiFi might not make it an interesting underwater camera for you but for a camera prices at $330 that can shoot videos and photos at depths up to 82ft, you cannot complain much. The Canon PowerShot D30 digital camera is scheduled for mid-April release.
